Absolute Softball Academy



Absolute Baseball is excited to announce its newest program, Absolute Softball Academy (ASA). Beginning with its 4 month Winter Training Program, designed for players 11 to 18 years old with some softball experience, our very qualified coaching staff looks to share all they have learned to help grow the sport of softball in an energetic and competitive atmosphere. Collegiate coaches, former players as well as current collegiate players will make up the ASA Coaching Staff. Absolute Softball Academy will use both of it's spacious domes during practice times allowing staff to work with all players on all aspects of the game. ASA will also offer each year strength/conditioning camps, U10 camps, beginner softball camps, coaches clinics as well as assist with community programs wanting the ASA staff to run camps or host events for their program.

Born and raised in Calgary, Cayt played Softball for 19 seasons.  Playing the game for 19 years Cayt played for the UC Dinos, Calgary Sluggers, Diamond Devils/Aces and GASP Rockies.  Along the way Cayt was honoured with WCSA All-Star Top Pitcher Award 2013 and 2015 WCSA All-Star 1st Team Pitcher for 2011, 2012, and 2014, WCSA All-Star 2nd Team Pitcher for 2010 and 2015. Cayt was very fortunate to play on many great teams which included Gold Medalist in 2014 WCSA Championship, Silver Medalist in 2011 CCSA Nationals and a Silver Medalist in 2013 Softball Alberta Provincials.  Since her final year of playing at the UC she has joined on the Coaching Staff and acts as the Dinos Pitching Coach.  Cayt in the short time as a coach has given her time to the Diamondawgs program for 2 years, Div 1 South Bow River U12 in 2015, Div 1 South Bow River U14 in 2016, CMSA Coaches Orientation Certification 2015, 2014 and 2015 Nose Creek Pitching Clinics and in 2016 the OMBA, UC Dinos and South Bow River Winter Pitching Clinics. 


Born and raised in Roberts Creek, BC, Taylor played the game of softball for 20 seasons. A utility player by trade Taylor played the infield, outfield and also at the catching position. During Taylors 20 years she was a standout player for the North Vancouver Stars, UC Dinos and Calgary Extreme. While playing at the University of Calgary, Taylor served as Team Captain and was a AIWFA Scholarship recipient FIVE times.  Since beginning coaching Taylor has done numerous clinics not only in Alberta but also back home in BC.  


Born and raised in Calgary, Karen played softball for 11 seasons. During that time she played in the Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) as well as for the UC Dinos, Calgary Kaizen, Calgary Xtreme and at the Alberta Summer Games in 2015.  Along the way Karen earned MCAC 2015 Second All-Team Conference Award, MCAC 2015 Second Team All-Northern Division, MCAC 2015 All Academic Award, CCSA Top Infielder Tournament All-Star 2015, Gold Medalist in 2014 WCSA Championship.  Since finishing playing Karen has coached both softball and ringette.  For 5 years she was with Calgary Northwest Ringette Association and most recently assisted in numerous softball camps such as the OMBA and UC Dinos 2016 Winter Catching Camps. Currently Karen attends the UC and plays for the Dinos Softball Club.


A native of Calgary, Domenica has played softball for 10 seasons. Most recently she has played for the University of Calgary and the Calgary Extreme. During this time Domenica served as Co-Captain of the Calgary Extreme and was awarded a 2014 WCSA All-Star Second Team Outfielder selection and a 2013 Midget "A" National Championship All-Star Outfielder. 


Alex began her Minor Softball career playing for the Kindersley and UK Royals. During those years she helped lead teams to 6 consecutive provincial gold medals, 2 silver, and 1 time Western Canadian gold medalist & silver. In 2011 Alex began her collegiate career with the UC Dinos Softball Club where in her first year the team earn a National Championship berth in which they came away with a silver medal. Through out her years at the UC Alex was a 2012, 2013 and 2014 AIWFA Scholarship Recipient, a 2013 and 2014 WCSA 1st Team All star at shortstop and in 2014 was recognized with a WCSA All Academic Team selection. While at the UC Alex completed her Kinesiology degree. After her collegiate career Alex began coaching as well has worked to complete her Coaching Certification through the National Coaching Certification Softball Program and obtained her Respect in Sport Certification. Alex's coaching career although brief has included being an Assistant coach for the Peewee and Bantam Kindersley Royals for 3 years and she has also helped with pitching clinics and various baseball evaluations. 


Born and raised in Calgary Ali started playing softball with the Southfour Sluggers where she began her catching career.  By the age of 12 she was one of the top catchers in Calgary. At age 14 the Sluggers moved into the CWFA and 2 years later were one of the top teams in the League. In 2014 Ali started her collegiate career with the SAIT Trojans where she was named an All-Star for catching. In 2015, she transferred to Briercrest College in Saskatchewan where in her first year was named an MVP. Through 21 seasons of playing softball Ali has learned a lot of life lessons and credits all her other successes back to the life skills she obtained while playing softball.  Ali has just recently began her coaching career and is passionate about teaching other young girls the fundamentals and skill set needed both on and off the field.


Sebrina is a Registered Kinesiologist with a Specialization in Sport Performance and Nutrition. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2002 and later went on to become a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2003.  She has worked as an Athletic Therapist and Nutrition Consultant with numerous baseball and softball programs since 2004.  Currently, Sebrina works for Manulife as an Ergonomic Specialist.  Sebrina is passionate about educating people about improving their nutrition for the purpose of maintaining their health, reducing their risk for chronic disease and improving their sport performance.  She maintains an active lifestyle by eating clean and working out 5-6 days/week.
